(1)For Institutional Class, the minimum investment amount is $5 million ($3 million for endowments and foundations) per fund. If the investor invests with American Century Investments through a financial professional, this requirement may be met if their financial professional aggregates investments of multiple clients into a single account that meets the minimum. The minimum investment requirement may be waived if the investor, or their financial professional who combines client investments in this way, has an aggregate investment in our family of funds of $10 million or more ($5 million for endowments and foundations). In addition, financial professionals or plan recordkeepers may require retirement plans to meet certain other conditions, such as plan size or a minimum level of assets per participant, in order to be eligible to purchase Institutional Class shares. American Century Investments may permit a financial intermediary to waive the initial minimum per shareholder for Institutional Class shares only with written authorization in the following situations:

  • Broker-dealers purchasing fund shares for clients in broker-sponsored discretionary fee-based advisory programs where the portfolio manager of the program acts on behalf of the shareholder through omnibus accounts;
  • Trust companies and bank wealth management organizations purchasing shares in a fiduciary, discretionary trustee or advisory account on behalf of the shareholder, through omnibus accounts or nominee name accounts;
  • Financial intermediaries with clients of a registered investment advisor (RIA) purchasing fund shares in fee based advisory accounts with a $100,000 initial minimum per client or $250,000 aggregated initial investment across multiple clients, where the RIA is purchasing shares through certain broker-dealers through omnibus accounts;
  • Qualified Tuition Programs under Section 529 that have entered into an agreement with the distributor;
  • Certain other situations deemed appropriate by American Century Investments.

(2)The referenced initial and subsequent minimums are for accounts established through a financial intermediary. Financial intermediaries may require their clients to meet different investment minimums. For retail accounts established directly at the fund company, the initial and subsequent minimums are different.

(3)Small Business Retirement Plans include Business IRA's (SIMPLE, SEP and SARSEP), SIMPLE 401(k), Single K and Employer-sponsored retirement plans held in brokerage accounts whether a single account for all plan participants with the Fund or multiple accounts for each plan participant.

(4)Certain group employer-sponsored retirement plans, that hold a single account for all plan participants with the Fund, or shares are purchased by certain retirement plans that are part of a retirement plan or platform offered by banks, broker dealers, financial advisors or insurance companies, or serviced by retirement recordkeepers. Refer to Statement of Additional Information for a list of retirement plan types.
